Hello, Anne-Sophie! I had to stop by to get in on this drawing. Susan Piver is my virtual meditation instructor. I adore her, have benefited so much from her wisdom. What do I do to quiet my mind? Meditation, writing, yoga, and walking my dogs. So much love to you!
Jill, I thought of you this weekend as I was meditating with Susan here in NYC. I love sitting with her virtually, but her presence and her wisdom is even more powerful in person. I’m so happy to hear you adore her and there’s a good chance you’ll win the book. 😀 Much love to you too.
How could I resist such a lovely offer! Quieting the mind is one of the most challenging, and yet one of my most favourite things to do. Sometimes I close the blinds, stretch out on my bed and meditate to my fave mantra, ‘so hum’. Other times, I close my eyes and listen to meditative music or gongs – very healing to me and it helps quiet the noise in my head. Sometimes, letting my thoughts flow out onto paper helps. The good things is I now have a few ways which gives me a choice, and that is always a very good thing 🙂
Hey, I know the day has passed, but I wanted to share anyway 🙂 I quiet my mind by doing one or more, or all of the following: Stop and take a few deep breaths and remind myself to be present, play with my dog (which again makes me enjoy the present), listen to or read from my favorite book “A Happy Pocket Full of Money”, or meditate. I learned Transcendental Meditation and use that to meditate, and have really enjoyed it. Actually, it’s awesome you mentioned Vipassana, because David Cameron talks about that as the recommended meditation in the Happy Pocket book 🙂
Hope all is well.
Too cool, Paul. I didn’t know you where doing transcendental meditation. Need to know more about that.
Anne-Sophie
